June 28, 2013- Bruce Thatcher joined hosts Al Berry and Randall Jefferson plus two other guests for discussion of the immigration reform bill (S.744) just passed by the Senate. Maria Sotomayer of the Philadelphia Deferred Action Network and Amanda Bergson-Shilcock, Director of Outreach and Program Evaluation, Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians, expressed their pleasure at the bill’s passage.
Thatcher explained that he opposes S.744 because it focuses on illegal immigration while ignoring major flaws in existing immigration laws. Near the end of the show two calls were taken, both from young “DREAMERS”. Hosts asked what we guests thought would now happen in the House of Representatives.
