Immigration: How To Avoid It's Perils And Make It Work

Bruce D. Thatcher (Iowa State, Alpha Phi '56)

"Bruce D. Thatcher is the founder of History Speaks Today, which is dedicated to examining history to learn from the accomplishments and failures of the past.  Thatcher served in the navy and Marine Corps reserves, worked for General Electric in marketing and management and then Vendo Company, then founded and led a telecommunications consulting firm for 30 years until his retirement.

His latest book, Immigration: How to Avoid Its Perils and Make it Work, explores the necessity for improved immigration policies instead of higher fences on the border.  The book outlines the flaws in the United States immigration policy and presents clear direction for improvement.  Thatcher draws on immigration policies utilized by Australia, Canada, France, Mexico, Palestine, Singapore and the United States since 1790."
